James Durbin weds
James Durbin weds. The former American Idol rocker James Durbin married his girlfriend Heidi Lowe in the Santa Cruz mountains on New Year's Eve 2011. According to US Weekly, the couple, who have a son together - two year old Hunter - tied the knot in front of 85 guests, including fellow American Idol contestants Casey Abrams, Haley Reinhart and Stefano Langone.
The singer told US Weekly back in November that they would be keeping the wedding low-key; "We're having such a small wedding that it's not this big hassle that we can't handle. We're planning it all ourselves. We don't need a wedding planner. We're not that crazy about it, you know. It's not about everyone else. It's about us, and we're keeping that mindset."
The planning for the wedding has been taking place whilst Durbin was on the road with the American Idols Live! Tour and working towards the release of his album Memories of a Beautiful Disaster. The album features songs written with one of his favorite bands, Hardcore Superstar.
James Durbin took part in the 10th series of American Idol and sang songs by artists such as 30 Seconds to Mars, Judas Priest and Sammy Hagar, among others. He was eliminated before he could get into the Top 3. Scotty Mccreery became the youngest male ever to win the show at the age of 18.
